This page will bring you activities of local, volunteer citizens conservation groups - Conservation Advisory Councils (CAC), Conservation Commissions (CC), Environmental Review Boards (ERB) and Commissions for Conservation of the Environment (CCE). Although their names may be different, one of their main goals is the same: To promote and protect their municipality's environment through local conservation activities. Out of 42 municipalities in Orange County, citizen conservation groups are found in only 7: Town of Cornwall, Town of Goshen, Town of Monroe, Town of Montgomery, Town of Wallkill, Town of Warwick and Town of Tuxedo.
Through this webpage the District hopes to assist these groups with exchanging information and advertising activities, not only to the other conservation groups but to local citizens as well. It will provide each group's contact information for everyone who might be interested in forming a CAC in their municipality.
